Dedicated blood donors from the Fylde coast, who have given blood hundreds of times between them, have been recognised for rolling up their sleeves to help save lives.
If a donor has given blood 100 times they have potentially helped save the lives of up to 300 patients in local hospitals. And could have helped 225 people if they reach 75 donations.
These donors were honoured at an awards ceremony held by NHS Blood and Transplant.
James Corning, from Cleveleys and John Cooper and BB Dixon, both from Blackpool, received a crystal award for an amazing 100 donations.
Only one per cent of all blood donors reach this milestone.
Four people were presented with a crystal award for 75 donations – Valerie Atherton, from Thornton, Michael Giddings, from Freckleton, Barbara Walker, from Blackpool and Diane Woodhall, from Cleveleys.
