A number of pharmacies will remain open across the Fylde coast on Monday, which is May Day.
Residents suffering from minor ailments have been urged to visit a pharmacist for advice and treatment, rather than visit A&E at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, which has seen record numbers in recent months.
The plea, from health bosses, came as GP practices prepare to close for the day.
