An elderly man who died after being hit by a car on a busy Poulton road has been named.
Harry Owen, 85, died on Sunday morning after being involved in a collision with a car on Amounderness Way, close to the River Wyre pub, on Saturday evening.
He was a resident of Primrose Bank rest home, Breck Road, Poulton.
The driver of the car, a silver Audi A3, was spoken to by police but not arrested.
Police are now investigating the exact circumstances of the incident which happened at around 7pm and closed the road for around three hours.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward and contact Lancashire Police on 101.
