A mum of two has died after contracting malaria during a visit to her luxury holiday home in Gambia.
Jayne Rowley died after suffering a seizure in Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Her husband Martin, the owner of Carpets of Lytham, has also been treated for the condition.
Mrs Rowley, 47, from Marton had spent ten days in the Brufut area of the west African country like she had done many times over the last 23 years.
But following her return started to complain of flu like symptoms as did her husband.
The couple who had not completed a course of anti-malaria drugs became so poorly they were admitted into Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Mrs Rowley lost her battle around 4.30pm yesterday.
