Health bosses in Blackpool will remain in offices based at Bloomfield Road, saying it is cheaper than moving.
Chiefs at the town’s Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which is trying to find millions of pounds of savings, considered shifting in a bid to save cash.
They discussed moving to Wesham, the walk-in centre in Whitegate Drive, or Blackpool Victoria Hospital, sharing council offices at Bickerstaffe House, or finding another commercial property in the town.
But a spokesman said: “In recognition of the need to make significant savings, we duly reviewed our accommodation costs. This was part of a wider process to review the CCG’s operating costs, and ensure we are making the most effective use of our budget and resources.
“The decision to remain at Bloomfield Road was taken after a thorough assessment of all possible alternatives. When making this decision, we considered various factors.
“These included the costs of a new lease, additional costs likely to be incurred as a result of any move such as equipment and IT necessities, the impact on our staff, and the likely disruption to our day-to-day work during any move.
“Staying at Bloomfield Road is the cheapest available option to the CCG within Blackpool.”
