HORSE-loving woman has scooped a top business award for the third year on the trot.
Hannah Wild’s online success has earned her prestigious honours in the annual British Equestrian Trade Association Business Awards, competed for by over 250 UK firms.
Hannah’s firm, Supplement Solutions, supplies specialist horse feed and supplements to customers worldwide from offices in Great Eccleston.
And it was those customers’ nominations, plus a secret shopper test on her website, that led to her picking up top honours in the internet trading category of the contest.
Hannah, a keen rider and teacher, launched her business eight years ago after working as technical manager for a manufacturer of horse supplements in Lytham.
Finding that many horse owners wanted advice on keeping their animals in tip-top condition, she decided to quit her promising career to research which products were the most effective.
Hannah then put these onto her website, www.supplementsolutions.co.uk, and offered a telephone advice service for horse owners seeking help for conditions ranging from poor digestion to problems with hooves and joints.
Despite the recent retail causalities on Britain’s high streets, she says her business is flourishing in the middle of the town – and could serve as a model for other shops with its focus on customer service:
She said: “Although we rely on the web for selling products, we’ve maintained a highly personal side to the business and are always happy to welcome customers to our premises.
“Those who can’t buy over the counter are offered friendly expert advice on the phone by staff who love horses.
“In this way, we’ve created a much more human side to our internet business while still offering all the other advantages of buying on-line.”
