A £1.5M housing development in Garstang has won a top environment award.
The scheme, by The Regenda Group which has a number of housing schemes across the Fylde coast, was presented with a bronze Green Apple Environment Award during a presentation ceremony held at the House of Commons.
The development at the Beech House Farm site, which scooped a Wyre Council Building Excellence Award in March, consists of 13 family homes with a number of environmentally friendly features.
These include solar panels which feed directly into every property to heat the water, a rainwater harvesting system to reduce water consumption, an ultra-efficient gas boiler, and improved insulation and double glazing throughout.
Martin Davies, director of development at Regenda said: “We’re absolutely delighted this development has received a Green Apple award.
“We worked hard to make sure these new homes were in keeping with their rural location while at the same time reducing their impact on the environment.”
