Next week’s second Misery Of Sound show of the year at their new venue, Beat, Corporation Street, has another great line-up of live music organised.
From Los Angeles, Frankenstein is in the UK for only three dates, including the acclaimed Whitby Goth weekend.
Frankenstein have emerged to become one of the most talked-about bands of its time with a punk/psychobilly/swampy blues-gone-awry style that has gained them fans across the world.
Back as main support is Devilish Presley. One of the hardest working bands on the scene, the last time the band played Blackpool was at Mis-Fest back in 2009. Hailing from East London, Devilish Presley has become a significant force on the gothic-punk scene in the UK and Europe during the last seven years. Their live shows are legendary and a work ethic which included self releasing four albums – all of which sold well and gathered excellent reviews – has seen them tour with music legends like The Damned and The Meteors.
The band has just completed work on its fifth album – The Dark Triad, a set of fast and furious dark flavoured gothic-punk songs covering sex, drugs, humour, alienation and of course horror.
The final band will be Blackpool’s own rot ‘n ‘roll trio, The Garbagemen. Their own brand of trash horror songs were last heard at MOS back in April, 2010.
DJ Grimly Fiendish will be on hand between and after the bands playing the best in Goth/Deathrock/Horrorpunk and Psychobilly creepy rock n roll music.
The night starts at 8pm and runs until midnight. 18+ roar door policy. It’s £4 on the door, information can be found at www.miseryofsound.co.uk.
