A Blackpool attraction has picked up a national tourism award for the third year running in recognition of the way it helps disabled people enjoy its facilities.
The Sandcastle Waterpark collected a silver award at the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2014 in the Access for All category.
Sandcastle managing director John Child said: “The easy part is putting the ramps and handrails in but the main thing is treating disabled guests with the same respect as anyone else, and ensuring they enjoy their day out just as much.
“It is all about inclusion and our staff go the extra mile to ensure we can accommodate all sorts of people.”
Previously the Sandcastle has won highly commended and gold awards at the honours ceremony.
Other organisations which were highly commended included VisitBlackpool for the Resort Pass and the Visit Garstang information centre.
Ruth Connor, chief executive of Marketing Lancashire, said: “These wins at the highest industry level remind everyone of the quality and variety of product available in the county, as well as the reasons why we continue to see such growth in visitors to Lancashire.”
