YMCA FC are going for a unique hat-trick tomorrow.
The Lancashire FA Cup winners for the last two years, the current Under-15 team have reached a third successive county cup final.
They face St Helens Town in the showpiece at the County Ground, Leyland, tomorrow.
It continues the club’s success story under the management team of Carl Pomfret, a former YMCA player, Martin Rowley and Graham Waterhouse.
The first team won the county crown as under-13s two seasons ago, beating Culcheth Athletic 3-2.
The winners of all FA County Cups that season went through to the national Tesco-backed competition, in which they won the Northern title and went on to finish as national runners-up to AFC Wimbledon after reaching the final at Derby County’s Pride Park.
They became the first Fylde coast team to reach back-to-back county cup finals last year, when they defeated Blackpool and District Youth League rivals South Shore on penalties. The team has lost seven players to professional football club academies or centres of excellences this season but remain unbeaten after 17 matches.
Manager Pomfret said: “This achievement will be hard to match and really is testament to the talent we have here on the Fylde coast.”
AllStars wishes Carl and his team the best of luck tomorrow.
