There was razzmatazz and sparkle as this year’s Blackpool Pride celebrated its official launch.

The glittering evening took place at Blackpool town centre cabaret and entertainment venue Viva Blackpool.

The event was hosted by Viva’s resident showman and comedian Leye D Johns, joined by Phil Jeffries, the Viva Showgirls, Funny Girls’ Bonnie La Blue, singers Jenny Ball and Reece Oliver and Chrissy Kay, Johnny Wright, and Tony Duvall.

The party not only marked the kicking-off of this year’s Blackpool Pride, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, but it also aimed to put the ‘fun’ into fundraising for the big weekend.

This year’s Pride festival will take place June 11 and 12, at the Winter Gardens and St John’s Square.

There will be five stages and a variety of entertainment.
