It was compered by Radio Wave’s Ged Mills and guest speaker was Prof Saul Becker, president of Carers Trust Fylde Coast and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Birmingham University.

The ball was attended by civic leaders, MP Paul Maynard, statutory, voluntary and private sector funders, supporters, businesses, staff, volunteers, trustees and carers.

The vent raised £15,010 for the charity’s Three In Five campaign, to Build A Better Life for Blackpool’s carers, by opening a new carers’ centre on Newton Drive.

A former NHS children’s development centre, bought for the charity by Beaverbrooks charitable trust, needs a £2m makeover to become fit for purpose since metal thieves trashed the property.
