Two teenage girls were rescued by a passer-by after getting into difficulty off the Blackpool coastline.
The pair, both aged 12, were pulled from the water by an 18-year-old man close to Festival House on the Promenade on Friday afternoon.
A Coastguard spokesman said: “We received a phone call around 4.50pm which alerted us to the fact two girls were on the sea wall steps.
“One girl was in the water up to her ankles, but another was upto her neck in the water.
“An 18-year-old man pulled them both to safety and got them out of the sea.
“One girl was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital as a precaution.”
