A six-year-old holidaymaker was taken to hospital with puncture wounds to her leg after being bitten by a dog.
Police and paramedics were called to the junction of General Street and Banks Street, in North Shore, shortly after 1.10pm yesterday. The girl, who is from Whitehaven, in Cumbria, was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but a police spokeswoman said the wounds were “deep but not detrimental”. She added: “The dog has been seized and taken into kennels so it can be looked at in the morning. General Street resident Andrea Bailey, 42, said: “You get a lot of dogs that go down this street, but it’s such a shame.”
