THIS is the man police want to speak to after a 13-year-old girl was attacked as she walked along a path on her way home from school.

The girl was walking along a path which runs from Links View and Worsley Road, across Royal Lytham St Annes Golf Course and onto Arundel Road in Ansdell when she was approached from behind by an elderly man around 5pm on Thursday.

Police say the man touched her leg and grabbed her around the neck. The girl struggled free and immediately ran back to school to report what happened.

The man is described as being white, over 5ft 9in tall and aged in his 60s or 70s. He is of large build with a very pale complexion, white hair and was wearing a waist length cream coat with a green flat cap.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
