RUNNING is in the DNA of these fitness fans.

The group is urging couch potatoes to get fit with a new easy-going running club.

The DNA For Life beginners’ running club is for people keen to boost their fitness at a leisurely pace with like-minded people, and aims to get them completing a 5km circuit in 10 weeks.

Edyta Paxton, from DNA For Life, which offers weight loss and health programmes, said: “It’s for couch potatoes and fitness-phobes who want to start running.

“A lot of people feel uncomfortable in normal running groups, so I want to create an environment for everyone where people don’t feel self-conscious.

“At DNA we start off with walking and after 10 weeks the members will be jogging.”

Edyta, 38, said the great thing about running is the ability to do it at any time without the expensive gym costs.

She said: “I have two children making it difficult to exercise, but I can go out first thing in the morning.

“I’m just enthusiastic about getting people up and exercising; my passion is to get people fit.

“If people have lost weight I encourage them to include walking or running in their lifestyle to maintain the weight loss.”

The DNA (diet and nutritional advice) For Life running club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and follows a route through Lytham.

Edyta hopes to spread out into Blackpool and Wyre in the future.
