A Fylde coast man has quit his job after winning a six-figure sum on the National Lottery.

The man, in his fifties, finds himself £737,287 richer after the shock Lotto win.

He saw his numbers come up on Teletext and promptly declared that he was giving up his job.

Upon discovering he had won the life-changing sum, the dad-of-one simply declared: “I’ve won the lottery. I’m retiring today.”

He was due to receive his winnings at a ceremony at Ribby Hall, Wrea Green, today and discuss his plans for spending the surprise windfall.

The last Fylde coast lottery winner missed out on the jackpot after the £1m winnings went unclaimed. The ticket was bought in the Blackpool and Fylde area but the deadline to claim passed earlier this year.
