LIONEL Vinyl will be joining Fylde coast residents brushing up on their first-aid skills and learning about life-saving on Saturday.
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is hosting a public awareness day at Blackpool Sports Centre, from noon until 4pm.
NWAS paramedics, emergency medical technicians, community resuscitation teams, community first responders, heart start trainers, chain of survival and community champions will be teaching visitors vital life-saving skills.
The aim is to show people simple treatments can make the difference between life and death.
Blackpool DJ Lionel Vinyl will be opening the event.
Christopher Hyde, community resuscitation development officer, said: “Every year 70 per cent of cardiac arrests occur outside of hospital.
“It’s important to show everyone knowing basic life support could immeasurably improve a person’s chance of survival; whether it’s treating cardiac arrest, heavy bleeding or choking.”
Special gifts will be given out at the event.
