Crowds flocked to St John’s Square in Blackpool to give the resort’s hospice a funding boost.
The Friends of Trinity Hospice held a family fun day in the square on Sunday.
Visitors browsed the stalls, took their chance with the tombola and lucky dip while youngsters enjoyed the face-painting sessions.
Teresa Hodgkinson, from the Friends Group, said: “The Blackpool Friends Group would like to thank everyone who supported our fun day in St John’s Square. The day was a great success, fun was had by all raising a lot of money for the Trinity Hospice and Brian House Childrens Hospice.
“There were various stalls including cakes, sweets, a lucky dip, different tombolas, crafts, gifts, and hook a duck.
“The money raised will go towards the continued support and care for local adults and children with life limiting illnesses.”
The hospices are based on Low Moor Road in Bispham.
Services include 24 hour specialist palliative care and a day therapy unit.

Midnight walk to see the Lights
During the fun day, the Friends Group was also promoting the next major fund-raising event for the hospice – The Illumathon Ladies Midnight Walk. The walk will take place on Saturday September 7. The midnight walk takes participants through Blackpool’s famous Illuminations. With a five mile and 10 mile route available and both starting and finishing at Sainsbury’s, in Bispham, it’s perfect for ladies of all abilities. This year’s theme is trainers and tiaras while t-shirts designed especially for the evening are red with special glitter print. For more information visit www.trinityhospice.co.uk/events/illumathon
