Dasher, Dancer and Prancer eat your hearts out – these festive fund-raisers gave Santa’s reindeer a run for their money to raise cash for charity.

Children at Revoe Learning Academy and Park Community Academy donned reindeer antlers and flashing noses to take part in a ‘reindeer run’.

The event, held throughout the day at the schools on Grasmere Road and Whitegate Drive, raised money for Brian House children’s hospice.

Around 500 pupils took part across the two schools, and even Hospuss, the hospice’s mascot, joined in at Park Community Academy, which held its run during its daily ‘move it, groove it’, fitness session.

Lisa Martin, community fund-raiser, said: “It’s a great way to start the Christmas season. The response has been amazing and we have had hundreds of schoolchildren doing the Reindeer Run for us.”

Children from schools across Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde have also held reindeers runs for the cause, including: Shakespeare, Rossall juniors, Holy Family, Baines, Stanah, Clifton, Flakefleet, Carr Head, Waterloo, St Bernadettes, Devonshire, Kirkham Grammar and Clifton.
