Friendly B&Bs fly flag for Fylde coast
Mick and Nix Thompson from The Bromley and Vicky and Kate Easley from The Fylde International in Blackpool, collected their awards for being a finalist in the AA Friendliest B&B Award, sponsored by eviivo.
All the winners were nominated by AA Inspectors who inspect and rate more than 2,000 B&Bs throughout the United Kingdom.

Hide AdThe awards, which were presented at the annual ceremony at the London Landmark Hotel, included guest accommodation of the year for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as the awards for unique bed and breakfast, restaurant with rooms, friendliest bed and breakfast. The winners received a certificate together with an engraved Villeroy and Boch decanter.
Mick and Nix at The Bromley, said they love making guests feel special and individual doing the extras that often get ignored by other establishments such as offering a free laundry service to guests who are touring or staying a little longer.
Judges said guests love Nix’s homemade breads and jams and Mick’s repertoire of life experiences from touring Europe with a rock band to being a councillor in the EastEnd of London.
Mick said: “The notification letter came as a complete shock. We feel honoured to have been nominated for the award and pleased to represent our wonderful resort at such a prestigious event.”

Hide AdThe Fylde International was praised for being a true family affair, not only is it run by a mother and daughter team but it also offers a selection of family rooms that include a range of interconnecting rooms allowing families to have their own privacy when staying.
Vicky said: “It’s a truly delightful feeling to know how we, as a business, are perceived. A total surprise to be awarded for something you have a genuine passion for.”
