The cause of a blaze that tore through a Blackpool town centre flat is today under investigation.
Firefighters spent almost two hours at the property on Queen Street, where a second floor flat was “well alight”, on Thursday night.
Despite fears there was someone trapped inside, nobody was found and no injuries were reported.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said the blaze caused “extensive damage”.
He added: “We got a call at 9pm and arrived within four minutes.
“A second floor flat at the front of the building was well alight and we used four breathing apparatus and three engines. There was extensive damage to the room of origin.
“Someone had suggested someone might be trapped inside but although firefighters searched, there was nobody – everyone got out.
“We are investigating the cause of the fire but there is no indication at this stage that it is suspicious.”
