THERE was dancing in the streets of Blackpool as a flash mob struck in the resort.

Birley Street was transformed into a temporary dance floor on Saturday when more than 60 revellers pulled off a spontaneous routine.

Shoppers stared in amazement as part of the crowd suddenly stopped in their tracks and dance music started blaring out.

The secret flash mob event was planned through the internet to promote a new St Annes business called Secret Service. Dancers were asked to practise to a mega mix of songs called Dance Evolution by watching a video on You Tube.

And the impact was exactly what Secret Service owner Cheryl Ridsale was hoping for.

She said: “It was fantastic, people couldn’t believe their eyes. Staff from Thomson travel agents even joined in.

“A secret event is exactly what Secret Service is all about so we hope news of the business will spread by word of mouth.”

Secret Service is based on Back St Annes Road West, St Annes, and aims to inspire romantics who want to surprise their partners.
