The woman, believed to be in her mid-60s, was having work done on her home on Beardshaw Avenue, Blackpool, and she fell through a split floorboard, trapping her leg at around 1pm on Sunday.
A crew from South Shore fire station spent about half an hour helping to free her before she was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.
A fire service spokesman said: “We had to cut the boards away to release her.
“Her leg was swollen so she was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
