TWO Blackpool hoteliers claim they turned a Blackpool hater into a lover of the resort, during filming for a reality TV show which aired last night.

It featured the owners of The Vidella on Dickson Road competing against other hotels in the New Forest, Devon and Brighton on new show ‘Four in a Bed’.

The Channel 4 programme stars hoteliers from four very different bed and breakfasts hosting each other in an attempt to be crowned the best.

Last night Neil Williams and John Downer, who have owned The Vidella for eight years showed off Blackpool’s favourite hotspots.

Neil, 38, said: “We had to think of an activity for our guests and we wanted to do something unique to the town.

“We tried to organise a trip to the Tower but because it is being refurbished we were unable to arrange anything.

“But thanks to the generosity of staff at Funny Girls we treated our guests to an evening of cross dressing cabaret – they loved it.”

“One of the guests said he hated the resort before he came – but by the end, we’d changed his mind.”

The fun-loving business partners entered the show earlier this year.

Neil said: “When we were told we were in the running it was a shock.

“Camera crews came down to film us and loved our sense of humours, John is a prankster and I’m easily led.”
