A man became relentless in his stalking of his former partner.

The woman victim had to close 30 e-mail and Facebook accounts as Craig Bretherton pursued her over social media.

I have blocked him on 30 accounts but he is relentless

The couple had a brief six week relationship but when it ended Bretherton, 46, of Eamont Place, Fleetwood, would not accept it.

He would appear at her home and then bombard her with internet messages, Pam Smith prosecuting told Blackpool Magistrates Court.

Bretherton admitted harassing his ex and will be sentenced on August 11 after probation reports are prepared on him.

The court heard that during his campaign Bretherton was given an official police caution.

However he continued to send messages to the victim. In her statement to police she said: “I have blocked him on 30 accounts but he is relentless.

“It has caused me distress and anxiety and I have had to move home. He has even tried to get to me via my daughter’s Facebook and emails.”

Steven Townley, defending, said his client now accepted the relationship was over and in his latest messages he wanted to bid her farewell.
