Officers from Wyre Council removed the rubbish and found evidence leading them to a Chinese restaurant in Blackpool.

Mark Billington, head of operations at Wyre Council, said: “The council’s stance on fly tipping is clear. Firstly, we work quickly to remove rubbish from our streets and secondly we will do everything in our power to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.

“Arranging for someone else to dump rubbish on your behalf does not absolve you of responsibility. People are required by law to check anyone who removes waste from their property is registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier.

“Fly tipping blights our neighbourhoods and undermines our work with communities to keep Wyre a clean and tidy place to live.

“We rely on members of the public reporting fly tipping to us in order to deal with it swiftly and catch the offenders.”

Residents of Wyre can report fly tipping at wyre.gov.uk/flytipping or call (01253) 891000.
