Staff at Blackpool Victoria Hospital took part in a Big Butt Clean-up to rid its grounds of cigarette ends.

The Vic has been a smokefree site since 2007 and progress has been made to reduce the number of smokers.

But people still smoke on-site and leave a substantial amount of smoking related rubbish.

Rachel Swindells, public health facilitator, said: “The clean-up gave us the chance to interact with patients, visitors and staff and remind them of the smokefree policy as well as promote support available through the Inpatient Tobacco Specialist Service.”
