Christmas shoppers can get a bargain bicycle at a recycled and renovated bike sale.
Blackpool Council has renovated bikes to sell on to residents at knockdown prices, as both a cheaper alternative to new ones and as a green approach to festive gift buying.
The Christmas recycled bikes sale will be held on Tuesday, December 17, between 11am and 2pm at Layton Depot, in Blackpool.
The bikes were donated to the council and have been fixed and cleaned and are now in a good quality condition to be used again, instead of going to landfill.
A variety of bicycles will be on sale, all at £50 or less and coming with a free Bike Easy book.
A depot spokesman said: “This is a great opportunity to get a discounted bike along with cycling accessories, keeping you visible and safe on Blackpool’s roads.”
Cycling accessories are perfect for socking fillers, they include:
> Lights £3.50
> Locks £5 - £15
> Hi-vis Rucksack Covers £2 > Helmets £8
> Hi-vis reflective Gloves £9
> Bike covers £3
> Bike seat covers £1.50
> Hi vis cycling jackets (small sizes only) £12
Bikes will be sold on a first come, first served basis and will need to be taken away on the day. Cash payments only.
