What better way of learning about a different culture than a trip out of the country.

These pupils from St Aidan’s CE Technology College enjoyed a trip to remember to Ingolstadt in Germany.

This thriving Bavarian city is the home of successful car maker, Audi.

BBC2’s recent programmes about the German way of life have focussed attention on the nation’s attitude to work and efficiency, and the trip was certainly a cultural experience for the St Aidan’s visitors.

The youngsters enjoyed lessons with their exchange partners and made friends for life at the Christoph Scheiner Gymnasium.

They also visited one of the icons of German football, the Bayern München Allianz Stadium, took a stroll around Munich and visited Nürnberg.

Teacher Mrs Burke said: “For many of our students, this visit was an unforgettable experience, which helped to improve their German language skills.

“They also developed a real appreciation of a different culture and way of life.”
