Students showed their support for the Philippines Appeal by wearing a red item of clothing to classes.

The generous schoolchildren at Hodgson Academy, on Moorland Road, Poulton, wore the colour to match the Asian country’s flag and each contributed £1 to the disaster relief fund, following Typhoon Haiyan.

The school raised a total of £942 and Poulton’s Natwest bank branch has also been fundraising to add to Hodgson’s total.
