Four Year 7 forms from Kirkham Grammar have donated more than 16kg of food to the Fylde Food Bank in St Annes.

They have spent the last few weeks collecting advent calendars and selection boxes in order to donate to those who are need.

The food bank has also benefited from a donation of £2,060.

Lancashire County Council handed out £150,000 to help those who cannot afford to eat. County Coun Azhar Ali, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “We’re living in times where some people don’t have enough money to eat properly and this can have a serious effect on their health.”
