A Fylde teacher inspired by a brave pupil has raised more than £800 by cycling across the UK.
Kayleigh Goode cycled from John O’Groats to Lands End after being motivated by six-year-old Jack Wain, a pupil at the Willows School, Kirkham, who has diabetes.
The teacher has now raised cash for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a charity which works to find a cure for type one diabetes.
She said: “Jack has got type one diabetes and uses an omnipod to give him insulin while at school.
“I wanted to do the challenge and having thought about it, wanted to help him. He is quite inspirational. He was excited when I told him what I was doing.
“We have raised £650 online and another £150 elsewhere.”
Anyone who wants to donate to the total can go to www.justgiving.com and search for Kayleigh Goode.
