These little chefs think cooking is flipping great as they prepare pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday today.
The youngsters at Clifton Lodge Nursery have been perfecting their pancake recipe for a special snack, complete with lemons, chocolate, ice cream and fruit.
There’s a job for everyone at the nursery on Clifton Drive South, St Annes, as they prepare pancakes for each other.
The babies squeezed the lemons while two- and three-year-old tots whisked batter and the pre-school four-year-olds used their maths to make sure there was enough to go around. And everyone had a go at flipping and taking part in pancake races.
Nursery manager Amie Nicolson said: “It’s a lovely hands on experience for them, we love celebrating food here.
“We like learning to be interactive and cooking is a real life skill for them as well as a way to have fun while they’re developing.”
