I spy with my little eye… a vital case-cracking clue!

Youngsters at Mereside Primary School swapped their algebra books for magnifying glasses as they tried to solve the mystery of the missing parcel.

But don’t worry, this isn’t Lancashire Police’s newest plan to deal with the latest round of swingeing cuts, merely a classroom exercise designed to get children’s creative juices flowing.

The case formed part of the school’s writing week, when every class from nursery to year six are encouraged to fall in love with writing.

Teacher Lauren Hollis said: “We build on the children’s creativity not only through literacy-based activities but we expand their experiences with art too.”
