Jacquie has been a patron of the school for 18 years - going back to its roots in the resort - and has been an integral part of both Scream Theatre School and their Actors agency, Scream Management.

Jacquie trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and was the winner of the Michael Warre Award for Best Actress in 1988.

She has been cast as the regular role of Lorraine Wicks in BBC’s EastEnders and more recently played Judith Miles in BBC’s Casualty and Linda Hancock in ITV’s Coronation Street.

But Jacquie gets a real buzz out of helping youngsters shape stagecraft and TV talents through the Scream dream team. She explains: “It is wonderful to be part of the Scream Team. There was nothing around like Scream when I was growing up and trying to get into acting and performing. It is fantastic for the children and the opportunities that the kids have here are amazing.

“Some of the students have more experience than graduates trained at drama school. “I love teaching the students and it is great to put everything I have learnt back into the kids.”

Jacquie is currently working alongside Ashley Luke Lloyd - at the Scream Theatre School - who will join the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical, Dream Girls in The West End in London. Ashley was working professionally at the age of nine, and at 11 had appeared in a Hollywood film with Michelle Pfeiffer.

Jessica Bell, of Scream, says: “Jacquie is brilliant. She is working so hard. She didn’t stop from 8.30am to 5pm all day sorting the drama pieces out for the presentation .

“It’s fantastic to have an actress of her calibre. She trained at LAMDA and performed at the RSC.

“She wlll also be handing awards out on presentation day and all are welcome to attend.”

The two presentations will be held at Blackpool Sixth Form on Saturday, July 9, at 11am and 3pm.
