A new course has been set up to help former nurses get back into the profession.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Central Lancashire have teamed up to create a ‘Return to Practice’ course designed to fast track former nurses and support nurses to re-enter the profession with the potential of nursing post at the end of it.

Marie Thompson, director of nursing at the Trust said: “We are always looking to recruit quality nursing staff and we want to encourage as many experienced nurses back to the profession as we can.

“This course is a refresher where they will gain a qualification that will allow the participants to re-register with the National Nursing and Midwifery Council and be licensed to practice again.”
