PLACES are still available for children to take over Blackpool Council for one day next month.
As part of Take Over Day on November 11, children from Blackpool have the opportunity to sign up for council jobs that interest them.
They also have the chance to experience some of the council’s most important roles, including shadowing an executive director or living the life of a cabinet member.
Coun Amy Cross, cabinet member for Younger People, said: “Take Over Day is a great opportunity for young people to get involved in the decision making process.
“I think it is vitally important for young people to be involved in the decisions that affect them.
“It is also a really good way of helping young people to make decisions about their future careers and hopefully some of the people taking part in the day will come away with a much clearer idea of what they want to do in life.”
