He will take the helm ahead of the school’s planned opening next September, and will work alongside executive principal Chris Lickiss, the ex-headteacher at Unity Academy in North Shore.

The pair are expected to talk to parents at an open evening at the Pleasure Beach’s Globe Theatre from 6.30pm-8pm on Monday.

Plans for the school, being opened by the Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT), will be shown off, while representatives from contractor Conlon, uniform supplier 1st Class Kids, and caterer Chartwells will also be attending.

Derek Yarwood, headteacher at Hodgson Academy in Poulton, will also be talking, while visitors will be able to try on a virtual reality headset.

The school, on the former Arnold site in Lytham Road, is set to have a virtual reality studio – one of the first in the country – for pupils.
