Drunk fisherman let off hook by Blackpool court

A plasterer returned from fishing in a drunken state and upset his girlfriend by behaving badly.

Thomas Douthwaite, 26, of Hornby Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to breaching the peace and was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months by Judge Roger Lowe at Blackpool Magistrates’.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, said police were called to Douthwaite’s flat after hen returned home drunk after going fishing on April 23.

When police officers entered they saw items Douthwaite had thrown, strewn around, David Charnley, defending, said Douthwaite had had all weekend in the cells to think about the consequences of his behaviour.
