Emergency services were called to cut an elderly man free from a car that crashed through the window of a shop in Cleveleys.

Police have closed part of Anchorsholme Lane East after the crash at Andrew Curran Car Parts this morning.

Officers were called at around 9.10am by the fire service after the car ploughed through the entrance to the building.

Firefighters attended to help free the male driver, in his 70s, from the vehicle. He is not believed to be hurt.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 9.10am to a report of a vehicle colliding with a window.

“A man who was inside the vehicle was trapped. Fire services are on the scene.

“The road is closed between Kelso Avenue and Magdalen Avenue.”

Nobody else was in the vehicle when the collision happened.
