A VAN driver terrified the driver of a bus and his passengers in a road rage incident.

Kyle Colino battered on the sides of a number 68 Stagecoach bus in Warton and spat on a window while accusing the driver of cutting him up.

Colino, 23, of Poplar Avenue, Warton pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.

Vikki Pickup, prosecuting, said how, on September 20, bus driver Stephen Taylor halted at a bus stop on Lytham Road. As he went to set off he believed that van driver Colino was letting him go and pulled out.

Further down the road Colino overtook the bus forcing it to stop. Colino went up to the bus shouting, swearing and banging on the windows and pressed the door opening button.

The prosecutor added: “The driver sounded his alarm. He was concerned about his safety and that of his passengers.”

Imran Majid, defending, said his client had gone to overtake the bus which was at a stop but the bus pulled out causing Colino to veer into the opposite lane.

Colino approached the bus in an aggressive way, but says he could not remember spitting at the window.

He was sentenced to 100 hours unpaid work for the community, put on 12 month supervision and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
