A man was left with minor injuries after his car overturned coming off the M55 this afternoon.
The accident happened westbound on the exit slip road at junction four of the M55 at 1.10pm.
The overturned car was so badly damaged that a recovery vehicle had to remove the car from lane one of the slip road but authorities remain unclear how the incident happened.
A spokesman for North West Highways England said: “We have reports of a puncture leading to the car being overturned.
“But when we arrived on the scene, the car was back on its wheels.
“The car was so badly damaged that a recovery vehicle was called for it to be towed away.
“The driver did not suffer any major injuries and did not need to go to hospital after being checked over by ambulance crews.”
Lane one on the exit slip road was closed until 2.55pm which resulted in delays for drivers.
