NICHOLAS Wisdom did not live up to his name, Blackpool magistrates heard.
For the 23-year-old drove home late at night after drinking four pints.
But the electronics went on his vehicle causing the steering wheel lock to come on and Wisdom crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle which then ploughed into a telegraph pole.
Wisdom, of Dunelt Road, South Shore, admitted drink driving.
His solicitor Gerry Coyle said his client had not tried to flee after the crash
He added: “My client went to a friend’s house and called the police from there.
“He did not run off.
“His car has been written off and his nose broken by the airbag which exploded in his face.”
Wisdom was fined £100 and banned from driving for eighteen months.
