The Easter break brought out a bumper crowd for the event at Rossall.

And the group was certainly kept busy, gathering dozens of sacks of rubbish from the shoreline.

The litter pick was organised by Rossall Beach Buddies, which stages an event on the stretch of beach between Cleveleys and Fleetwood every month.

A spokesman for the group said: “It was a bit of a grey start but the sun did eventually come out.

“We had around 55 people down on the beach to help out and we collected a huge pile of rubbish.

“It was a fantastic turn out.”

The next Rossall Beach Buddies event will be on Monday May 8, starting at 9.30am.

Volunteers are asked to meet in the Rossall Beach car park.

All welcome.
