Dog walkers in Fylde are being reminded to bag and bin their pet’s waste to keep the borough clean and tidy.

Fylde Council is reminding people hundreds of litter bins can be used borough-wide for dog mess to be disposed of.

Sarah Wilson, the council’s principal waste development officer, said: “We make it as easy as possible for dog walkers by letting them use litter bins.

“Not all councils do that but we want to work with pet owners.

“They must first put the dirt in a bag and then just place it in the bin.

It couldn’t be easier.”

She also added: “It means there is no excuse for leaving dog dirt on the ground.”

Anyone wishing to report dog fouling anywhere in the borough can contact the council on (01253) 658658.
