Today is the deadline for nominations to stand in a by-election due to be held in Blackpool next month.
Voters will go to the ballot box on March 16 to elect a new councillor in Warbreck ward.
The election follows the death last year of the incumbent Conservative councillor Tony Brown.
He died last October after being taken ill while he was on a cruise with his wife Angela.
Coun Brown had represented Warbreck ward on Blackpool Council since 2000.
He was also Deputy Mayor of the town in 2015, when his fellow Conservative councillor Peter Callow was Mayor.
Candidates wishing to contest the seat must deliver their nomination papers to the town hall by 4pm today.
Applications by residents to register to vote in the election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Tuesday February 28.
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Blackpool Council by 5pm on Wednesday March 1.
The other seat in Warbreck ward is currently held by Coun Danny Scott, representing the Conservative Party.
