A mother and daughter were captured on CCTV burgling a Blackpool hotel and carrying out a washing machine before loading it into a people carrier.
Lisa Knowles, 45, of Cavendish Road, Bispham, and her 29-year-old daughter, Emma Knowles, of Knowle Avenue, Cleveleys, both denied stealing the washing machine and two televisions valued together at £600 in a burglary on October 23 at the Chequers hotel, Queens Promenade, but were found guilty of the offence after a trial in their absence.
Lisa Knowles pleaded guilty to stealing a man’s mobile phone in Asda after the man left it in his trouser pocket and went out of a changing room to show his wife some clothes he was trying on.
When the phone was discovered missing, the man’s wife rang the phone and Lisa Knowles was identified as the thief.

Lisa Knowles was sentenced to 12 months’ supervision and to pay £60 victims’ surcharge. Emma Knowles was sentenced to 20 weeks’ jail suspended for 12 months, plus nine months’ supervision, three months’ drug rehabilitation and to pay £80 victims’ surcharge.
Bromley was sentenced to six months’ supervision, three months’ drug rehabilitation and to pay £60 victims’ surcharge.
They were each ordered to pay £200 costs by District Judge David Scanlon at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
