Date made with Calendar girls

BLACKPOOL's answer to the WI Calendar Girls kept their clothes on to sign copies of their near-naked fundraising calendar.

Members of the Women's Running Network stripped off to pose for the 2007 calendar to raise money for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, which helps cancer patients across Lancashire and Cumbria.

Nine of the ladies were at Waterstone's in Blackpool, to sign calendars with photographer Aggie McGuinness.

But the only things they took off were the tops of their pens.

Tricia Ellis, who leads the group, said: "It was our first signing and we all had an enjoyable time.

"We are certainly Blackpool's answer to the Calendar Girls. And we can't thank people enough for buying the calendars."
