Dad accused of murdering six-week-old baby son

David Christie, 35, of Wyre Grove, Blackpool is accused of murdering six-week-old Marshall Christie at the family home.

Christie made a one minute appearance before Blackpool Magistrates where he had appeared at an earlier date charged with causing the child grievious bodily harm.

After the results of a Post Mortem on the child, Lancashire Police decided to charge Christie with murder.

Magistrates remanded Christie in custody until he appears at Preston Crown Court on March 31.

Asked if he understood what was going he replied: “Yes...I do understand.”
